Joie Noire

I recently received the Joie Noire Body Butter from Whipped Things as a birthday gift, and let me just say—this body butter is an experience.

First, the fragrance is absolutely stunning. It strikes the perfect balance between warmth and sweetness. The subtle floral notes blend beautifully with the rich mahogany, creamy vanilla, bright citrus, and touch of teakwood. The scent feels sophisticated, comforting, and luxurious all at once. As someone whose favorite scent profile includes mahogany and teakwood, this fragrance felt like it was made for me.

Joie, of French origin, means “joy,” while its Hebrew connection carries the meaning “He will add” or “God will increase.” After using it, those meanings feel fitting. Joie Noir is going to be my fall layering scent. The woody notes in there make it such a warm scent brightened by the citrus and made delicious by the vanilla. Alone or layered.... this eats!
